The meeting was led by Fr. Rafael Bejarano, SDB, the General Councillor for Youth Ministry. He was accompanied by the members of the International Youth Ministry Team: Fr. Jose Lorbeth Vivo, SDB, (EAO Regional Coordinator), Fr. Francisco Cervantes, SDB and Antonella Sinagoga. Moreover, Fr. Michal Vojtas, SDB and Fr. Gustavo Cavagnari, SDB, from the Università Pontificia Salesiana also offered their reflections and insights.
The five-day program featured discussions on a wide range of topics, including: Pastoral Reading of the GC 29 the program of the Rector Major, Pastoral Research and Methodology, Sharing of Best Practices on Salesian and Lay Collaboration, Reflection on Youth Ministry, Promoting Positive Mental Health in Youth Ministry, Response to the Dreams of the Young, Regional Themes/Issues, and Socio-Political Commitment in Youth Ministry.
In his concluding remarks, Fr. Bejarano reminded the delegates to deepen their reflections to better accompany the young. He encouraged them to set up their ministry in a synodal way, contextualized within each Province, while respectfully considering each province's unique contexts and processes.
The gathering concluded on a cultural tour to Man Mo Temple and a visit to Aberdeen Technical School, Salesian Discovery Center and Mary Help of Christians Parish in Kowloon.
This regional meeting underscored the Salesians’ enduring commitment to the young. By uniting leaders in prayer, reflection, and dialogue, the gathering reinvigorated youth ministry across East Asia and Oceania, ensuring it remains a dynamic and responsive force for good.
